Visa application procedure

This section of the website contains visa application information.

Ordinary (paper) visas are not issued by post. You can only apply for and pick up a visa in person. The applicant's personal presence is required, with the exception of children under 12 years of age.

Appointments are made through the electronic appointment system. The link to it is located in the upper right part of the page (section "Book an appointment").

Documents are accepted for processing in complete sets; incorrectly collected documents are returned to the applicant. Please note that the Russian visa center in Denmark temporarily suspended its work in July 2021. Visa applications must be made to the consular section of the Embassy (consulate).

Due to the imposed restrictions, we are temporarily forced to accept cash (DKK) as payment for the consular fee. Tariffs can be found in the relevant section. For citizens from a number of countries, including citizens of Denmark, the fee rates set in bilateral and multilateral intergovernmental agreements will be used.

The most common types of visas are listed below. If you are interested in other types of visa (service, diplomatic, etc.), please contact us by phone or email.

Electronic visa is issued online without any appointment, but has some restrictions (check the relevant subsection).

NB! If you plan to travel and stay in Russia with a close relative or a private person (Russian citizen), see the private visa section. You must check the same section in case of death or illness of a close relative who is a Russian citizen.
