Ordinary study visa
A student visa is issued to foreign citizens and stateless persons entering the Russian Federation to study based on an invitation issued by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD).
In other words, the host university/school/institute will issue an invitation through the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and you will be given a copy of it.
List of required documents:
1. Application form for visa. It is filled out on the website visa.kdmid.ru, printed and attached to the documents. Pay attention to the correct indication of the place of application (the Embassy). Application forms prepared for the Visa Application Center will not be accepted.
2. Passport. Must have at least 2 blank pages and be valid for a further 6 months from the visa expiry date.
3. Travel insurance covering the entire period of stay in Russia. The insurance must contain at least the following information: full name of the insured, insurance number, validity period, area of coverage.
4. Min. 1 color photograph 35 x 45 mm on a light background. In Denmark, such a photograph is often referred to as a "passport photo".
5. An invitation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (MVD).
This document is issued by the MVD (police in Russia) on the basis of an application from the Russian organization that would like to invite you to Russia for study.
6. A medical certificate on official letterhead from a medical organization confirming a negative test result for HIV/AIDS (applies to all applicants, including children). This document is required for multiple entry visas.
The consular fee for this type of visa is charged according to the special tariff and depends on the number of entries in the invitation and the urgency of the visa.

Note - if you are not a Danish citizen, you must present a document that confirms the right to stay in Denmark for a period of more than 90 days (residence permit, letter from the migration authority, etc.). A permanent residence permit or other equivalent document is required from citizens of the following countries: Algeria, Angola, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Georgia, India, Iraq, Iran, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Syria, Somalia, Chad, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia.
