On January 1, 2007 the Kingdom of Denmark joined the Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of legalization for foreign public documents of October 5, 1961.

ATTENTION: The Consular Section legalizes only the documents which do not fall within the scope of the Convention of 05.10.1961. This procedure is performed by the Consular Section if the Danish Foreign Ministry endorses the document with a special legalization stamp.

An «apostille» should be stamped by the Danish Foreign Ministry on those documents issued by Danish authorities or organizations which are supposed to be presented in the Russian Federation.

For more detailed information, please, get in contact with the Legalization Section of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark:

(+45) 33-92-01-18 or 33-92-01-25 (13.00-16.00),

Asiatisk Plads 2,
1448 Copenhagen K.

To be fully acknowledged by Russian authorities the document furnished with an apostille should be translated by an authorized translator to Russian. The list of the authorized translators, located in Denmark can be found here. You can also have your documents translated by an authorized translator in Russia.

After the document with an apostille has been translated a signature of a Danish authorized translator should be certified at the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Denmark.

If your document is furnished with an apostille, the legalization stamp of the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Denmark is not necessary.

If you have any further questions, please consult the FAQ.

Please, do not forget to book an appointment to submit your documents for legalization or certification of a signature.

Please, go to visa fees and processing time to check consular fees for legalization and verification of the signature.
